Jason da Silva Castanheira is a PhD candidate in the Integrated Program in Neuroscience (IPN) at McGill university working with Dr. Sylvain Baillet. Jason strives to make science more accessible to people of all ages. He actively participates in initiatives that aim to inspire youths to join STEM related fields. His research examines how brain activity, recorded with neurophysiology, is a lot like a fingerprint left by your hand. His work shows that individual differences in brain activity are stable and can differentiate people from one another. But unlike your fingerprint, this ‘brain-fingerprint’ can be used to predict cognitive abilities.
